A house was purchased via Schildtvoorde Makelaardij. After the purchase, it turned out that the main connection was not sealed. The city considered this to be unsafe and placed the seal upon payment. We reported this to Schildtvoorde. As a response, it was stated that a non-occupancy clause applied. According to the legal framework, a non-occupancy clause does not affect a safety risk that already existed at delivery. The report was forwarded to the seller, but further handling or compensation did not occur. Considering the safety aspect, we find the handling by both the seller and the real estate agent disappointing.

Extremely disappointing experience with this real estate agent. I was called by a Real Estate Assistant about a property and heard in an utterly rude manner that it would be impossible to arrange something by 31 December. Even when I thanked him for calling, he kept repeating in an disrespectful tone: “yes, it won't work out for you.” All he had to do was inform me that the property wasn't available, I didn't ask for advice, but he kept emphasizing this in a nasty way. Very unprofessional and completely disrespectful.
