During our search for a home, we also came into contact with this real estate agent during the viewing of the property at Buitendams 154a in Hardinxveld-Giessendam. The role of a real estate agent is, in our opinion, important in the sales process. Unfortunately, we experienced the contact as unfriendly and cold. There seemed to be little joy in the sale or the contact with potential buyers. Of all the real estate agents we have spoken to, this one came across as the least friendly to us.

Kurt wanted a month's rent from us as a tenant (illegal because the landlord already pays it) and he wanted it in cash so that he wouldn't have any problems with it. Don't go into business with him!!

Extremely unreliable realtor! This realtor acted as the sales realtor for a neighboring commercial building. I wanted to discuss purchasing a small piece of the large plot. The representative of the realtor said they would present this to the seller. I was willing to pay top dollar, so my offer was interesting to the seller. When I heard nothing back, I called the former owner directly. However, he had never received the request regarding the sale of this narrow strip. While this was perfectly discussable for this company. In the meantime, the sale of the building to a property developer had gone ahead. This realtor deliberately did not take my request into account and excluded me from consideration. Later, the truth came out. It turned out that Den Boer also handled the sales of the new homes to be developed. In other words, this firm only thinks about themselves, elbows its way through, and lacks all integrity! As long as they can fill their own pockets.

The only thing that went well was the communication and the viewing (super friendly contact, also in person). I had found a property on a rental website, after which we suddenly had to register compulsorily on Ronifica’s site ‘for faster contact’. We did this and quickly made contact with ‘the intermediary’. We had neatly communicated via WhatsApp and were able to schedule a viewing. During the viewing, everything still seemed trustworthy. Only afterwards, after the viewing, when data was requested, we suddenly had to sign a ‘mediation agreement’, describing that we would have to pay costs. The answer was: ''Now it turns out that this is collegial rental and we don’t ask for full mediation fees for this, but only a contribution in favour of the owner, for advertising and administrative costs. Usually this is 3% with a minimum of €350,- at the moment you actually rent a property.'' I found this super vague, because €65 had already been paid to register on the website. Of course, we did NOT sign this ‘mediation agreement’, because I first wanted to receive the rental contract (huurovereenkomst). Now comes the strange part: they didn’t want to provide us with the rental contract ''because this agreement only starts when you rent the property from the landlord'' AND ''the landlord will not make an agreement without knowing whether you can actually rent the property''. While the rental contract should normally already be drawn up! It was also very vague that when we had the viewing, it was said ‘you are the only candidates at this moment’ and later it was said: ‘then I will send you the documents, together with those of the other candidates’. Also, as soon as we got home after the viewing, the advertisement for this house suddenly disappeared: from their own website and from another well-known rental website. Because ''a colleague did it accidentally''. While normally you would put an advertisement on status ‘rented’.

Wednesday again the same story, now it became the end of the week. Again heard nothing. Eventually, called him repeatedly again on Monday and managed to get through to him, and the only thing he says is that the apartment has been rented, you didn’t receive an email, and he also had absolutely no understanding for the poor communication towards us. There was never any email sent and none of our emails were ever responded to. Dramatic communication with this landlord.

He never responded to emails and didn't answer his work phone. He claimed that we had used the wrong email address or that he hadn't received it. We always used all the email addresses listed on his website and that he used. Those had worked in the past. He responded once to our email, but only after we told him that we didn’t have to pay the rent. The problem had escalated so much at that point that it undoubtedly cost the owner of the building more money to repair it. Only after a miracle did we get his private number; he responded to problems with the rented apartment.
