Wij zijn expats en wonen in Rotterdam. We zijn in februari, tijdens de coronapandemie, eindelijk verhuisd nadat we maandenlang via een ander bedrijf huur hadden betaald. We zitten in een unieke situatie omdat we drie honden en twee katten hebben en ons eerste huis huurden vanwege de ruimte. Uiteraard werkte dat niet en waren we behoorlijk in paniek toen we een andere woning zochten. Laura van Amstel Housing heeft ons geholpen met een huiseigenaar om ons huidige huis te vinden, dat prachtig is en veel ruimte biedt voor de honden. Ze heeft het hele proces soepel laten verlopen en ons bij elke stap ondersteund!

Hoewel ik het appartement uiteindelijk niet heb genomen, was de samenwerking met Laura erg prettig en behandelde ze ons veel vriendelijker dan internationale studenten doorgaans kunnen verwachten.

Oplichters ! Heb letterlijk nog foto’s van de oplevering / sleuteloverdracht en je ziet duidelijk dat er al gaten in de muur waren. Bij einde huurcontract hebben ze mij digitaal iets laten tekenen en gezegd dat het algemeen document is om ontvangst van sleutel te bevestigen. Nu hebben ze mij dus in het nadeel gesteld en borg ingehouden. Triest.

Prettige communicatie

We hadden een probleem met onze cv-ketel en hoewel het even duurde voordat het gerepareerd was, hield Namik de situatie nauwlettend in de gaten en zorgde hij ervoor dat het zo snel mogelijk opgelost zou zijn. Dat is de service die ik altijd graag zou willen hebben. Dankjewel Namik!

Een zeer onaangename ervaring. We hebben via Riva een appartement gekocht, maar er ontbreken spullen die wel in het contract stonden toen de sleutels werden overhandigd. Ook zijn de reparaties nooit uitgevoerd en is er al meer dan drie maanden geen contact meer met ons opgenomen. Kortom, er is geen kwaliteitsgarantie bij deze makelaar als het gaat om de aankoop van een woning. Erg teleurstellend.

This real estate agency is the WORST I've ever had to deal with. The selling agents did not do their homework properly regarding the property, which had an issue with unpaid energy bills related to the termination of the contract before I bought the apartment. Moreover, they were supposed to remove the old furniture from the apartment, but they did not do that - all attempts to contact the selling agents were in vain. This is a disgrace for a real estate agency.

WHAT YOU DO, DON'T GO TO SEA WITH THIS BROKER!!! Long story short: Very bad experience with Riva Rentals as a broker — unprofessional, misleading and negligent. As long as things go well, there is nothing wrong, as soon as things go wrong you won’t be able to rely on them. Simply scandalous. The long story: We rented out our apartment through Riva to two tenants. From the beginning we expected Riva to act professionally as an intermediary, but that was disappointing in every respect. In fact, we had “red flags” from the start. Trust your intuition and don't work with them. Not even as a tenant. When the tenants violated several contractual obligations (illegal subletting, nuisance, damage, unauthorized registration), we repeatedly reported this to Riva with evidence. Instead of taking this seriously, Riva repeatedly failed to respond or only provided vague feedback without action. Except when we sent a serious legal email. Suddenly we received a response that they had tried everything without providing any substantiation. We, on the other hand, still have all the evidence, should we need it in the future. What makes it even worse is that Riva gave the tenants incorrect advice. For example, they were referred to the rental committee for a deposit issue, while the rental committee does not have jurisdiction over deposit matters. They were also told that they were “fully entitled” — a statement that is legally completely incorrect and now leaves us with the consequences. In addition, we reported that the tenants had a third person registered at our address without our permission — something explicitly in conflict with the rental agreement. Riva did nothing about this, while the municipality of Rotterdam has since confirmed this registration. The lack of action or protection towards us as landlords is frankly shocking. Due to these incorrect advices and their passive attitude, we are now facing significant damage, legal repercussions and mental stress. Riva has not taken any responsibility, while as an intermediary they do have a responsibility to properly guide this type of process. They only want the benefits without the burdens. We feel completely let down. It is just that we ourselves are legally knowledgeable, otherwise we would probably be in even more trouble due to their lack of knowledge and their one-sided attitude towards the tenants. Based on our experience, we strongly advise against Riva Rentals. Also see Riva's response to the various negative reviews. That says enough...

Riva sent a broker to us. After an appointment on September 6th, during which we made agreements, he no longer contacted us. After numerous attempts to reach him, without success, we tried to call RIVA - RIVA is also almost impossible to reach by phone. To our astonishment, we realized that this broker no longer works for RIVA. We cannot cooperate with a broker who treats clients in this way!!!!!! Not recommended!

I had a viewing for an apartment that was being offered for sale through Riva real estate agents. The agent said they would send some more information. Since then I have not heard from them and my emails are not being answered. Yesterday, I received a notification via Funda that the apartment has been sold. Very unprofessional to not let me know anything anymore. Edit: After posting my review, they contacted me, which I do find sporty. Apparently there was a misunderstanding about whether they would let me know or if I was interested, or if they would send me something first and I would then indicate my interest, and my emails didn't arrive properly for some reason.
