Personally, I found the service from my buyer's broker, Kam & Bronotte, disappointing. For example, the broker to whom I was assigned (Jeffrey) regularly did not accompany me to viewings (or was replaced by someone else). Jeffrey was almost always busy with others. Perhaps he didn’t feel like dealing with me (too low price category)? Maybe he didn't dare to say it and therefore constantly brushed it off? For the viewing of the house that I ultimately bought, I went alone the first time. The second time we looked at it, an assistant came along. It is a nice house, but only afterwards do you notice that the broker hasn’t properly looked at a number of essential things. Take for example the water heater (poor maintenance) and electricity (no residual current circuit breaker). There are also some smaller issues, which I had hoped the broker would have pointed out to me and where I thought the broker would bring in his expertise. Also, you have to pursue the paperwork yourself with this broker. You assume that the necessary information about a property is neatly provided before you submit your bid. Well, that wasn't the case. I had to request many missing documents.... You can probably guess it: during the transfer, someone else from Kam & Bronotte is present; the broker has no input there either, so he might as well stay away. Looking back, I think I could have done it myself and saved on the brokerage fee.
