I am writing this to warn everyone who is considering going into the sea with this real estate agency, and in particular with our agent, François. Our experience was a textbook case of unprofessional behavior and a complete lack of care after signing the contract. - The effort stops at signing the contract The only time François made any effort was when he tried to sell his services. As soon as we signed, he became useless. The advertisement he made was full of basic errors, such as offering the same room twice. After having paid a total of €7,295 in fees (€6,600 commission plus extra costs for photography and placement of the advertisement), a simple correction should have been the absolute minimum. - Broken promises and management mistakes We had a tight schedule, which François assured us would be respected, even during his vacation. He explicitly told us that his colleagues would take over. This was a lie. After he left, we discovered that the real estate agency had no intention of publishing our advertisement until his return. We had to press them to even get our house on the market. When the advertisement finally went online and did not meet expectations, he suddenly demanded a price reduction - despite having initially agreed to our valuation. - Amateurish pricing and self-promotion We had to constantly monitor their work due to their repeated mistakes. When we finally agreed to relist the property for a lower price, they initially failed to update the price in the advertisement. This was a huge mistake; potential buyers could immediately see that we had tried to sell the house for a higher price but failed. This gave the impression of desperation and undermined our negotiating position. Moreover, we discovered that they had placed a link to their company's website in our advertisement. When we asked them to remove it - because it encouraged buyers to look at other houses instead of ours - François tried to manipulate us by claiming that it was for 'SEO' to promote the sale. In reality, he used our house to drive traffic to his company's website. He only removed the link after a long, exhausting discussion. - Lack of respect for our home Since we had moved abroad, we relied on François to keep the house tidy. He refused to buy shoe mats, so we had them delivered to his office. Look at the attached photo: this is how he left our house. Those are DIRTY, USED mats lying in a pile on the floor. Despite there being a trash can right in front of the house, François did not throw them away himself, nor did he ask visitors to do so. He treated our clean, tidy house like a garbage dump. It was a disgusting first impression for any potential buyer. - Against our interests François actively worked against us. He pressured us to accept every low offer. If we had followed his advice, we could have sold the house significantly cheaper. Before the handover, the real estate agency asked if we would be physically present. We reminded them that we had already moved abroad and asked if they needed anything else from us. They completely ignored our question and gave no answer. On the day of the handover, we received no confirmation that the deal was done. No professional courtesy, no update, just silence. - Verdict: If you are looking for a real estate agent who makes elementary tactical mistakes, treats your home like a garbage dump, ignores your questions and tries to sell your property for significantly less than it's worth, then François is the right man for you.
