01 May 2025When selling my first house, several established real estate agents from Hoorn came for an intake meeting; it wasn't a pleasant experience. They all had a lot of criticism about my house, which was described as old and supposedly lacking in everything. I didn't have a good feeling about it. I don't remember exactly how, but I ended up with the real estate agency De Stijl, which had only been around for about 2-3 years. Mariska Appelman came by for a consultation and appraisal. What a relief, she seemed very positive, advising and engaged. The house was sold for a 30,000 guilder higher yield compared to others. So now I'm selling my second house, I didn't hesitate to choose De Stijl of course. It’s not a large agency but they are very involved and you certainly aren't just another number. The entire sales process is handled professionally and flawlessly. Quick response time on 06 and app. Two inspiring ladies Mariska and Isabelle who solve all problems perfectly. Also now sold at a very good price within 5 days. De Stijl stands for professionalism, skilled, engaged, efficient - truly recommended. Jan

We politely state that we consider it important for you to come view the property and make a bid based on this viewing. We make an appointment at a time that suits you. The seller does his best to get the house in order and we make time to show it around to you. The appointment is properly confirmed and we email you all the documents. Afterwards, you do not show up! When we call you, you say: I have a lot on my plate and no time to cancel the viewings. It is exactly that I find idiotic and rude. Apparently, you do have time to write a review, but a phone call is too much for you. We treat everyone with respect but also expect this to be mutual. Greetings, Vidra Real Estate

The communication was very, very good, open and honest and she responded quickly. She also tried to push us outside of our comfort zone sometimes, but took our wishes into account and was realistic, supportive, enthusiastic.
