Disappointing experience with real estate agent Makelaar Kennemerpoort Heemstede, Mr. Robin Reimert. Today I had a viewing for the property at Papentorenvest 32a in Haarlem. I came with serious interest and arrived a quarter of an hour early. After ringing the bell, no one opened the door, so I walked around a bit. After about 10 minutes, I saw a man standing in the doorway looking at me without saying anything. When I asked if he was the real estate agent, he confirmed that. I mentioned that I had already rung the bell and asked why he hadn't opened the door. His response was: 'I was busy with other people.' Understandable, but a simple message or a door slightly ajar could have prevented much confusion. When I pointed that out, I received the response: 'Are you from Amsterdam?' A comment that I found unnecessary and condescending. When I said, “The tone is set,” he replied: “You set the tone.” I felt completely unwelcome and had a strong feeling that this property did not need to be sold to me. His attitude came across as arrogant and not customer-oriented. In this tight housing market, you expect to be treated professionally and respectfully as a serious buyer. Unfortunately, that was absolutely not the case during this viewing. A missed opportunity.
