Unfortunately, no honest broker. Had a few bad experiences. Doesn't pass on bids, for example, if he doesn't like them. Communication is not transparent. Does not honour made appointments. Violates the code of honour of the nvm realtor right before your eyes! I would advise to never, but really never trust this broker. This broker doesn't think along with you, but only in his own lane. See attachment. Be warned!

If you come from abroad, you sometimes find it difficult to navigate the cultural aspects of the housing market, especially during a housing crisis. Thanks to Daan, I was able to buy my first apartment in Amsterdam within 3 months! He gave advice on all aspects, such as finding a mortgage advisor, placing bids, checking the property. He handled the communication surrounding everything and was present until the key transfer. My advice to starters: you will need a lot of help to navigate the market. Advice followed, therefore no chance for their home.... Filling in all my details on the site and sending them to VLIEG is not sufficient as registration. It was only for their financing check. Despite the fact that I also had to provide all data about the property to be obtained and building number. Exactly the same data as the official registration form. I hear this 10 days after my submission, a day after the registration closed. Had still asked in my email (with reminder email 5 days later) if the info was sufficient. No chance of a home for me therefore thanks to their actions.

Thank you for your feedback. What a shame to hear that it went like this. We would like to explain the process again. On April 11, we received the financing form from you. On April 17 end of day hour, we received your email in which you stated that you expected to have registered with your previous email. We then informed you that registration for the property itself had to be done through the registration form and that you had to do this yourself. Unfortunately, the registration deadline was April 17 until 12:00 and your email arrived at the end of the day in which you stated that you expected to have registered with the financing form. The financing form was forwarded to the real estate agent on time by us, as agreed. Unfortunately, you interpreted it differently, and we are sorry to hear that.

Responded quickly to phone calls and/ or messages. Someone you like to have in your home and who gives the tours. Also with Sophie, back office, a quick and pleasant contact. When it was time for the photographer to come, the broker came by again to review everything. That gave a good feeling. Last Thursday, my friend and I had the final inspection of our first home. We were super nervous and curious at the same time. We were a little earlier than the real estate agent from DVA and went inside because it was raining. We were greeted kindly by the current resident. When the real estate agent arrived, we felt that this wasn't intended. There was immediately a tense atmosphere. The resident had told us that day that there were two wasp nests in the shed outside and they could be removed at her expense. We thought it was strange that this hadn’t been reported beforehand and pointed this out to the real estate agent. She said she still wanted to pass this on during this final inspection. It's a bizarre situation that we weren't informed about this earlier. But ultimately, it's nice that it could be removed at the resident's expense. When we came into the garden and shed, there were all sorts of things lying around like 2 large bags of soil/planks/tools and bulky waste. The lamps were still hanging everywhere inside as well. We indicated that we couldn’t deal with this and whether it could be removed. The resident stated that she no longer had the time/strength/desire to do so. Not really a problem, but that's not the buyer's responsibility to clean up. Moreover, it is normal for a property to be handed over empty. We were willing to clear this up but for compensation. The real estate agent intervened and said she thought it was incredibly flimsy and that my friend was quite a 'big boy' to be able to do it himself. This felt very belittling because this simply wasn’t how a house should be handed over. It was a very unprofessional attitude from the real estate agent. She was completely on the resident's side. Ultimately, the real estate agent wanted to clean everything up herself and take it in her own car and started collecting the planks. This wouldn’t all fit so we eventually came to a solution with much sighing that we would get compensation for it. Very nice but we both felt uneasy about it. Upon arriving at the notary's office, we discussed the story again and a 'well sorry you want to hear that..' came from the real estate agent. We were very sorry that things went this way when buying our first home. It leaves a bitter aftertaste. Having told this story a few times in our circles, most people concluded that this (fortunately) is not the normal way of doing things. Hence we decided to leave a review and share how our experience with DVA real estate agents has been.

For the readers' understanding, it is important to mention here that you are not a client of DVA Makelaars, and that we always carefully carry out the handover of a property. During the handover of this property, we dealt with an elderly lady who is in need of assistance. She did not receive help from her immediate surroundings when emptying the house, where everyone could see that she had done more than her best to hand over the property as well as possible to you. She handed everything empty except for a few items in the storage room. She also left a few wall shelves and some lamps hanging, which is quite common during a handover; new residents then immediately have light when doing renovations. Our client resolved the incident neatly by financially settling it with you, the buyers, on the spot. You agreed to this! We have to look after the interests of our client and have acted in the interest of our principal. It's a pity to now have to read a whole account of this minor incident which has been settled with more than a very good amount of money from our client. It feels like a slap in the face. We also find it disrespectful towards our principal. She even placed a Christmas arrangement in the house as a welcome gift for your new residents.
