07 Sep 2025Had a viewing today in Lelystad. We arrived at the viewing and the advisor who presents himself as an agent named Melle opened the door and said we could look around the property. He then continuously looked at his phone and couldn't answer any questions about the house. Very uninterested. At the end of our viewing, we asked some questions including whether they operate under a NVM contract. When the agent asks why we want to know this, we explain it is because of the condition of the house regarding hidden defects. We mention that this is also why we would like to make an offer (not much below the asking price). Melle gets irritated immediately and stands up. He insults his clients saying they are crazy and slams the door in our faces. Beware of this agency! They will keep you informed about where you stand. And Melle, for your information!! I would definitely recommend a customer service course for you. There is still so much to learn for you.

They showed the house to two parties at the same time during viewings, and the agent who led us around was clearly not well-informed about the property. Questions about the seller, neighbors, and the property itself were not answered truthfully. In email correspondence, our salutation was incorrect. Photos of us were taken at the notary's office without our permission. It is clear that houses sell themselves in the current market.

During the initial meeting, our wishes were listened to carefully, people thought along with us, and good advice was given. The communication after the initial meeting often went through me. This is because my father (89) was very apprehensive about all the hassle involved in selling an apartment. They were very understanding towards my father here. I and the real estate agent had regular contact via telephone or WhatsApp. Even during the holiday period where Mechel Josien did replacements, everything went smoothly. In short, a good team that thinks along, communicates well, advises, and consults when necessary. Despite my father's apprehension, he experienced this process as pleasant. During a viewing we met Hendrik, he was enthusiastic, spontaneous and had a lot of knowledge about the housing market. Therefore we decided to use Hendrik as a purchase agent. The past half year we have worked closely with him. We had a lot of low-threshold contact, even when he was on vacation we could contact him if needed. Hendrik is very proactive when it comes to the search for your new home, but also realistic about what (in these times) is achievable.
