I would rather speak German. I am currently in Bracht (near the Dutch border) and the landlords here are mainly Dutch people. If you call them to inquire about an apartment and they find out that you are not a refugee or something similar, you won't get it. They do not rent to Germans! And that's scandalous. I'm considering making this public. I've already done some research and they told me informally that landlords can ask refugees up to three times the rent, etc. I can hardly believe it, but if it's true, THANK YOU... Then they can at least sleep peacefully.
