18 Sep 2025I haven't had such a great experience with this real estate agent! I withdrew my sales mandate (three weeks on Funda, they didn't have to take photos themselves or conduct viewings) and they still managed to charge commission above the withdrawal costs despite my protests. In the end, I still had to pay the full amount of €850,-. Really sad, it puts real estate agents in a bad light again!!

Date unknownUnfortunately, not a pleasant experience with Mercurius Makelaars Deventer. UPDATE: Spoke with Remy, ultimately no solution was found. The phone call was unpleasant because the tone he used did not come across well. The viewing was done by Christiaan Brandwacht, here sufficient information was given (or so we thought). When we signed the purchase agreement, we were told between our noses and lips that a second window would be leaking. My husband and I were not informed of this. Christiaan said that the second window could easily be fixed, to accidentally let a hammer through it during renovations. We were astonished by this, because it is not our problem to solve but that of the sellers and Mercurius. Also, there is a lot of advertising on their socials about a Gamma box you receive when purchasing a home, which we unfortunately did not receive because Christiaan was busy with another sale of a more expensive price class property than ours during the purchase agreement. (Box eventually received because I called to follow up). We passed this on to our buying broker, he followed it up with Mercurius. When measuring the house, we heard from the sellers that the information Christiaan had given us during the viewing was incorrect. During the final inspection, there had been no prior communication from Mercurius with the sellers about the second leaking window. As a result, the second leaking window was not repaired before the final inspection, which led to a discussion between our purchasing broker and the sellers. Marco from Mercurius stood by and watched. It seemed that he only considered it important that the sale of this house went through instead of offering an immediate solution. The final score is that we now have to work with the sellers to resolve it, while Mercurius has not acted and the fault does not lie with the sellers or us. We spoke to the neighbor, turns out there is a mouse infestation in the area (Colmschaterenk), which we also noticed after finding three dead mice in less than a week in the partitions. There were also mousetraps found in the house and a lot of ants crawling through the house. This was not disclosed to us beforehand. It turns out that another window is leaking, so it's not one window that’s leaking but three. Unfortunately, only discovered after the final inspection because there was foil on the third leaking window. In my opinion, it is clear, Mercurius finds it more important to sell a house with 45% information instead of an honest way of selling. Not recommended to buy a house here.

24 Sep 2025Unfortunately, a very bad experience with Weghorst Makelaardij. From the start things went wrong: after the valuation in December 2024 there was no follow-up meeting to get to know our home well or determine a sales strategy. While other real estate agents provide tips, advice, and sometimes even stylists, Weghorst immediately started with viewings. The guidance was chaotic: after the first viewing, the sale was transferred without discussion to a colleague who did not even know our house. Four months later it seemed there was a serious offer, but the purchase agreement was never signed. We as well as the buyers received no information for weeks on end. Only when I contacted them myself did I learn that the buyers had already dropped out because they heard nothing from the real estate agent and had not received an agreement. Despite around 40 viewings, we eventually parted ways with Weghorst. It turned out later that even interested parties were rejected because there was supposedly 'already a potential buyer' – while the sale was far from finalized. Lastly: the current buyers of our home also did a valuation through Weghorst. The assignment had been pending for three weeks already, but I only received my first call yesterday. This is now causing further delays again. In short, from start to finish it has been a huge disappointment. In a market that offers opportunities, this was a real disaster for us.

Regarding the valuation, the assignment was not with us for such a long time, and the valuation was completed within 1 day so that you were still able to sell your property. One point where we ran into was that our home was still assessed a bit on the high side, which caused us to lower the asking price. But it is currently also a very special sales market.
