12 Jul 2025I got to know Joek as the sales broker of the house where I now live. He wasn't 'hired' by me, so to speak, but if I ever sell my house again, that’s what I would do. Joek connects with people; he is genuinely interested in how they are doing, and when he looks at a property, he sees the person who lives there. Also, Joek has an eye for how to get houses photographed well, which beautiful glimpses make the house worth it. So trust him if he wants to shuffle things around! His individuality is something you either like or not (I do). Don't expect a typical broker in a suit, but a man who lovingly and creatively puts a property on the market and goes to great lengths to make the sale a pleasure for both parties.

During this conversation, I was surprised by the enthusiasm of the broker and the time he took to answer my questions and provide advice. Especially remarkable that this conversation took place on Friday evening, well after 18:00. His role as a sales broker changed into a purchasing broker upon acquaintance. This resulted, to our amazement and to our delight, fairly quickly in a purchase and a lovely apartment, it's A'dam Good Story. From the outside, she is relaxed, easygoing and gives everyone, seller and buyer, a good feeling right away. Inside, she is super driven, sharp, can easily distinguish between main points and details, goes directly for the goal, keeps everything under control and manages well but always in a pleasant way. Within a month, I had a good offer while comparable properties were on the market for 4 / 5 months. It was otherwise not an easy process due to financing problems of the buyer, but Vanessa repeatedly solved the bottlenecks, protected my interests very well, and thanks to her tireless commitment, the sale went smoothly for everyone. Unfortunately, I cannot respond to the reaction of the owner below and wanted to leave it at the bad review, but the response below asks for some clarification, so here’s what happened: - Tel Krop sold a house via bidding - We had the winning bid - Written confirmation from Monique Krop. List of movable assets shared. Notary confirmed. - The notary prepared the documents for the transfer - The party that had offered less in the bidding process still wanted to offer more, while we already had confirmation of the purchase and the documents were with the notary. We were offered a compensation if we would withdraw, because we were formally the buyers. - Ultimately went with the other buyer anyway, without compensating us. Not only ethically very questionable, but also illegal. I think it speaks for itself that you should stay as far away from Monique Krop as possible.

We act on behalf of our clients (in this case the sellers) and always strive for the maximum result. 15 Jul 20220 stars, 1 star would be generous. Moved to a recently renovated apartment on the Eerste van der Helststraat in Amsterdam. No internet. In the 21st century. Had to contact them to get the builder back to dig out the walls to find and connect the cable. Great start. Next; leak in the toilet ceiling. Every time someone showered upstairs. Had to contact them for repair. When I dared to ask a builder to take a look myself, I was put in my place and told that they had to decide whether they would incur damage or if I would do it myself. Yes, I flooded my own ceiling?! It's clear I decided I did, because 1.5 years later it still hasn’t been repaired. Nice shower room…impractically designed. No shower door, so water goes everywhere. The door wasn’t painted with the right paint, peeling off, swollen and the wood is rotting. Contacted them. An ‘assessor’ came out. Then nothing. What's next? Oh yes, the apartment upstairs is being renovated. After a particularly heavy rainstorm you wake up at 05:00 am with brown water steaming along the bedroom walls. Mad dash to save the furniture. I informed the bureau, but had to contact the builders myself to carry out the repair upstairs to prevent my apartment from being further destroyed. Bedroom unusable for 3 days while I dried it out, having to sleep on the couch. Sent several emails with photos and video, no response. Ceilings and walls are brown in color and are frankly disgusting. Heard a strange noise in the kitchen next week. Another leak from the ceiling. Enough water to fill a bucket. Managed to grab the builder and he repaired it. But not before my kitchen wall got a lovely moisture level. Sent another email with photos and videos, absolutely no response. Let's not forget that the builders don’t lay dust sheets or protect the area. The entire staircase was filled with cement dust and the navy blue carpet turned white. You can’t walk down the stairs without getting stains on your clothes. Emailed about this and then received a reply…that it would be cleaned when the work was finished. So in 4 months. Do you want us to live in this asthma-hazard for four months?! Another agent picked up the same message and sent a cleaning round (which only vacuumed the carpet, the staircase walls are still sticky and filthy). How could I forget the poor ventilation. Every time someone cooks downstairs, smokes or even farts, my apartment smells like it. Seriously, my friend has asthma, so the cigarette smell really affects him, it's stifling. Told them about this. They did…absolutely nothing. Well, Mr. Assessor came again, which led to more nothing. Had a realtor when renting this place, she also tried to contact them and was ignored. Had reviews that she wrote and left on Facebook and Google removed, which they will probably try to do with these as well. Oh, and don’t bother calling, they never answer and then don't call back. At this point I think they are screening calls. Although they knowingly ignored me, they managed to inform me via email of a rent increase during the last two leaks. So someone works there! Why don’t they respond? I can only speculate that it is because they may be obliged to inform the owner of the building about such problems and the costs they incur, so it's better to ignore this and feign the happiness of the tenant?! I suspect they will try to postpone the repair and do it at the same time and fit and paint the upper floor so that the costs can be masked and included in the renovation costs. Just my suspicion. How would you describe this? Mismanagement seems like an understatement. I’m living with rotting walls and mold enough to cry out loud! And the rent isn't cheap, let's call it premium prices. They clearly don’t care about the properties they manage or the conditions for the people who live in them. Amsterdam is a fast market, they can re-rent within a few hours. It's clear that they only care about their money. Whatever this level of unprofessionalism is called, it’s completely disgusting and I would like to ask everyone to seriously consider allowing these clowns to rent out or lease their properties.

13 Sep 2024In short: just don't do it! Explanation can be found below. ________________________________________ From A to Z, this process has been very unprofessional. The real estate agent we appointed for the sale, Skender, went on vacation immediately after accepting the offer, without any notification. Afterwards, we were left with his replacement, Remco, and that was a terrible experience all around. Here's a list: 1. Remco never answered when you called and didn't respond to messages -- even the notary mentioned during the sale that Remco is known for being unavailable. 2. Remco also didn't introduce himself after taking over from Skender. He didn't say anything and offered no information about the viewings he had planned. 3. Remco provided false information during the viewings, which has also negatively impacted the selling price of our house. 4. Remco was very rude all around. 5. Remco sold items with the house that were not for sale. 6. When Remco was confronted about this, he said: 'I'm not going to negotiate over a few items.' Ultimately, due to his attitude and unwillingness to advocate for our interests, we were unable to keep our belongings. 7. Remco made agreements with the purchasing party regarding the terms of the sale that were not discussed with us. When the notary tried to call him about this, he -of course- didn't answer either. And so on. When we contacted Skender about the substandard service provided, Skender was very indignant that we were dissatisfied. He did not acknowledge our frustrations and we also experienced no improvement or received any apologies. All in all, there was a huge lack of transparency, accessibility and customer focus. It is absolutely not recommended to work with either of these two men. They are both completely incompetent and unprofessional real estate agents.

I contacted them because I wanted help determining a good offer for a house, as I naturally want to make an offer that is proportionate to the house. Ultimately came up with an offer that was tens of thousands of euros above the appraisal value and above other bids. Of course, you only find out about that later. I don't understand house prices, so that’s why I engaged a buyer's agent. So yeah, too much trust. But unfortunately, Skender showed 0 reflection and responsibility in this and mainly wants his invoice to be paid.

16 Jul 2024We were scammed by this real estate agency. We rented an apartment for 2700 (Lindengracht 332), which they touted as recently renovated and beautiful. In reality, this apartment was filthy and disgusting. The walls had black mold everywhere, the furniture was broken, every corner of the apartment was dirty, worn out, and disgusting. After being confronted with the problems, they started lying and blaming my relatives for 'not following the standard procedure', which was completely untrue. Ultimately, we had to hire a lawyer, but we did get our deposit back, but we were still ripped off by an extra €1350 by the greedy landlord who refused to take responsibility for his disgusting apartment.

Moreover, they lie about the proportions within the HOA and make it look better than it is. I warned Manuela about this but she didn't care. It is prohibited and unethical. However, she doesn't care about that.

Manuela (real estate manager/not a real estate owner) presents herself as very professional and cooperative, but that is absolutely an illusion. When we moved in, we discovered that several things were broken and needed to be repaired. For some things, it took more than six months to get them fixed, while quite a bit of money had to be paid monthly. She didn't allow me to contact the owner of the property myself to resolve some issues. Fortunately, he is very collegial and reasonable. Something that Manuela clearly isn’t. I would not recommend working with her as a tenant or real estate owner. Her way of communicating is very unpleasant and unreasonable. 2nd review (after rental period) after we left the apartment, it got even worse. Manuela texted me that I should remove this 1-star review. Her argument; my review is incorrect. She even threatened me with legal action if I didn’t remove this review. In my opinion, this portrays Manuela in all respects. In our case, she did not take responsibility for her negligence during our rental period. It was a complete nightmare for me and my family to have her as a property manager.

31 May 2020Prestige Housing knows the Amsterdam rental market, has contacts with companies where expats work. I had my apartment for rent through a real estate agent for a month and it wasn't rented out. Prestige Housing took different photos, a different description. Within a few days I had three viewings and within a week it was rented out. Clear price agreements. Highly recommended.

14 Aug 2024Joost is a really great realtor. He is knowledgeable, both technically and procedurally. He helped me with the sale of my apartment. Something that didn't seem too complex to me beforehand, but which turned out to involve much more fine-tuning and timing. He has a good view of the market and really knows what he's talking about. Truly very pleasant how he guides you through such a process, which you don't go through every day. Finally, he is particularly honest and funny too. It's starting to get a bit boring, but I can’t help but give him 5 stars. Really can’t think of anything he didn’t do optimally.

He helped us advertise, present, and sell our house in Amsterdam Oost in the first week of the listing! His price advice was perfect and he did his utmost to make the viewings perfect; he also acted as our power of attorney. Strongly recommend!

14 Jun 2024If you're still hesitant about a real estate agent, don't be. Joost is truly a very good, reliable real estate agent who achieves great results. We are incredibly happy with how well Joost guided us through the entire sale of our house and thought along with us much more than we dared to hope. Our situation was quite complex but Joost was always there for us and took the time to discuss everything thoroughly and look for solutions. Another major plus point is that Joost is also very reliable in calling back, something we missed with other real estate agents. We never had to call back, mostly Joost would pick up immediately or call back quickly. And an addition from my husband “Joost has a good sense of humor”. Something which is not unimportant either 😅 If we have to describe Joost in 2 words it's "honest and reliable".

Vanaf het moment dat we Joost bij onze aankoop hebben betrokken was hij een oase van rust en structuur. Zijn begeleiding bij de laatste stappen van het process waren ontzettend waardevol, bijvoorbeeld met het doorlezen van de vele (juridische) documenten die je moet doorlezen. Joost erbij hebben gaf ons de ruimte om ons minder te daarmee bezig te houden en juist het moment van een huis kopen ook echt te vieren! Achteraf gezien had ik J-OOST er meteen bij moeten betrekken! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Buying a house is an incredibly messy and chaotic phase of your life that comes with a huge amount of stress. <span class='text-oranje-500'>the minute we involved Joost in our purchase he was an unending source of organization and tranquility.</span> His guidance in the final steps of the process was of incredible value, for example when Joost did a close reading of the many (legal) documents you are expected to read. <div class='text-blauw-500'>This freed us from having to worry about all this and gave us the headspace to enjoy the moment of achievement that comes with buying a house!</div> My only regret is that I didn't involve J-OOST from the start!
