13 May 2025Absolutely recommended! I have worked intensively with Pieter and his team for the past few weeks and it has been very positive. He knows what he's talking about, knows the entire city like the back of his hand and has contacts everywhere. He does everything to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible and that just works really well. What I found particularly pleasant was the feeling of having someone truly on your side and genuinely advocating for your interests. To be honest, I found the whole process quite exciting at times (choosing a house, bidding, arranging a mortgage) and when someone thinks along with you in a sober and structured way, that is priceless. The only thing I would do differently next time is to choose the mortgage advisor that Pieter works closely with. Then the lines are shorter and that's important because arranging a mortgage has to be done within a certain timeframe and you don’t want it to go wrong there. Pieter and Zahra, thank you for your help and until next time!

17 Dec 2024Joan and Rudy guided us through the buying and selling process. After inviting three local real estate agents, it was actually quite clear to us that we would choose Smit and Douma. During the first meeting, they immediately took a good look at our house and measured it directly so Joan could determine a good price based on comparable properties. Joan was also able to provide a lot of certainty about the price we could expect, so we could adjust our budget accordingly. When it came to properties for purchase, thorough research was done and comparable properties and their bidding behavior were analyzed. We also experienced both processes as very positive. Joan and Rudy were also available on weekends if quick decisions had to be made for both the sale and purchase. They create contracts digitally so that we, as buyers and sellers, can sign quickly, which speeds up the cooling-off period. For us as sellers, this provides quick certainty. All in all, very satisfied. We hope to live in our new house for a long time, but if we ever move again, we will definitely involve Joan and Rudy again.

I don't think it's fair that a realtor who has just started out doesn't want to speak to clients and dismisses them so briefly. My personal opinion is not doing business with this young entrepreneur. 20 Nov 2024We had a great experience with Schreuder Makelaars and appreciate their service in the current tight housing market situation. I can wholeheartedly recommend our realtor Stephan de Poel. For more than 3 months of actively searching and house hunting, we received full assistance with all matters: booking/canceling viewings, contacting sellers, inspecting houses, market analysis, bidding, drafting deeds, and etc. Other supporting staff were also always courteous, responded quickly via email or WhatsApp, and were generally extremely kind, regardless of the questions we asked. The price is well justified, as it does not change with the number of visits/bids (of which we had many) until you have the reassuring house.

We still decided to go ahead and buy, even though we had to cover additional expenses due to these discrepancies missed by the agent. On the other side I'm glad I followed her advice and move the search to a different area of the city that would fit better my family needs, and indeed we're very happy with our new neighborhood.
