Due to personal circumstances, I had to move abroad and needed to end the contract before its official end date. Since the contract was drawn up in Dutch and online translations can be unclear, I contacted the landlord beforehand to discuss any possible fines. The landlord confirmed in writing that the only fine would be paying the rent until a new tenant was found and that I would get my deposit back. Based on this information, I proceeded to end the contract. I thoroughly cleaned the entire apartment and left it in the same condition as when I moved in. MG Housing even thanked me for the good cleaning. Three months later, however, I still have not received my deposit back. The landlord now claims that according to the contract I have no right to it – which directly contradicts the information I had received in writing earlier. I even showed her the email exchange where it clearly stated that I would get my deposit back. Her response was merely an apology, without taking responsibility or resolving the situation. Despite multiple attempts to address this discrepancy, the issue remains unresolved, which I find very unprofessional. For clarity: my problem was not with MG Housing, but with the way the landlord handled the situation. I share this experience so that future tenants are aware of the situation and cautious about trusting written explanations regarding contract terms.

Unfortunately, not a pleasant experience with this real estate agent. I saw in a previous message that people are being kept on hold, and this is also my experience. Furthermore, there are still areas for improvement regarding treatment and communication skills. Mr. de Vor already knew in the morning that the purchase would not go ahead for us and only after much insistence with the receptionist took the trouble to inform us at the end of the day. This was a distressing conversation in which little understanding was shown. Very unfortunate. We have been looking for another home for some time and we have gained considerable experience with different real estate agents, where we were disappointed more than once, as so many people are. However, never had such a bad experience as here.
