12 Jul 2025I got to know Joek as the sales broker of the house where I now live. He wasn't 'hired' by me, so to speak, but if I ever sell my house again, that’s what I would do. Joek connects with people; he is genuinely interested in how they are doing, and when he looks at a property, he sees the person who lives there. Also, Joek has an eye for how to get houses photographed well, which beautiful glimpses make the house worth it. So trust him if he wants to shuffle things around! His individuality is something you either like or not (I do). Don't expect a typical broker in a suit, but a man who lovingly and creatively puts a property on the market and goes to great lengths to make the sale a pleasure for both parties.

During this conversation, I was surprised by the enthusiasm of the broker and the time he took to answer my questions and provide advice. Especially remarkable that this conversation took place on Friday evening, well after 18:00. His role as a sales broker changed into a purchasing broker upon acquaintance. This resulted, to our amazement and to our delight, fairly quickly in a purchase and a lovely apartment, it's A'dam Good Story. From the outside, she is relaxed, easygoing and gives everyone, seller and buyer, a good feeling right away. Inside, she is super driven, sharp, can easily distinguish between main points and details, goes directly for the goal, keeps everything under control and manages well but always in a pleasant way. Within a month, I had a good offer while comparable properties were on the market for 4 / 5 months. It was otherwise not an easy process due to financing problems of the buyer, but Vanessa repeatedly solved the bottlenecks, protected my interests very well, and thanks to her tireless commitment, the sale went smoothly for everyone. Manuela (real estate manager/not a real estate owner) presents herself as very professional and cooperative, but that is absolutely an illusion. When we moved in, we discovered that several things were broken and needed to be repaired. For some things, it took more than six months to get them fixed, while quite a bit of money had to be paid monthly. She didn't allow me to contact the owner of the property myself to resolve some issues. Fortunately, he is very collegial and reasonable. Something that Manuela clearly isn’t. I would not recommend working with her as a tenant or real estate owner. Her way of communicating is very unpleasant and unreasonable. 2nd review (after rental period) after we left the apartment, it got even worse. Manuela texted me that I should remove this 1-star review. Her argument; my review is incorrect. She even threatened me with legal action if I didn’t remove this review. In my opinion, this portrays Manuela in all respects. In our case, she did not take responsibility for her negligence during our rental period. It was a complete nightmare for me and my family to have her as a property manager.

I had my apartment for rent through a real estate agent for a month and it wasn't rented out. Prestige Housing took different photos, a different description. Within a few days I had three viewings and within a week it was rented out. Clear price agreements. Highly recommended.

Something that didn't seem too complex to me beforehand, but which turned out to involve much more fine-tuning and timing. He has a good view of the market and really knows what he's talking about. We are incredibly happy with how well Joost guided us through the entire sale of our house and thought along with us much more than we dared to hope. Our situation was quite complex but Joost was always there for us and took the time to discuss everything thoroughly and look for solutions. Another major plus point is that Joost is also very reliable in calling back, something we missed with other real estate agents. We never had to call back, mostly Joost would pick up immediately or call back quickly. And an addition from my husband “Joost has a good sense of humor”. Something which is not unimportant either 😅 If we have to describe Joost in 2 words it's "honest and reliable".

Date unknownI found the communication with this selling agent quite disappointing. Their language came across as unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. A little friendliness and respect work wonders – especially in real estate, where trust and clear communication are essential. I hope they will reflect on this and consider adjusting their tone in future interactions. EDIT: Good communication is crucial in real estate. Unfortunately, we were not treated professionally by this agent. I initially didn't want to reveal too many details, but now I feel that I must. When we presented the result of our offer, the agent insulted and laughed at us by saying we had the lowest bid, and even if it had been the highest, we wouldn’t win anything from them – he literally laughed at us. When we asked for the reason, he continued to insult us by saying how bad and unreliable we are. Actually, it didn't start there. He also discriminated against us during the viewing. He didn’t take us seriously and only paid attention to others. He even made a homophobic comment, simply because we are a married gay couple. The way we were treated is unacceptable, and instead of apologizing, they chose to lie in their public response. Just to clarify what really happened with the first apartment: we had the highest bid but were not accepted. The agent said that they didn’t trust our financial situation and asked for extra documents. Because we couldn't deliver what they requested on time, we had to withdraw our offer. But now they are trying to make it seem as if we simply changed our minds and are unreliable. We want to be clear: we could have withdrawn our bid without giving a reason before signing the contract. We acted in good faith, and it is enormously disappointing to see the situation twisted like this.

Two weeks later, you made another bid on a different property in the same street and the same complex. The broker then asked why you submitted another bid, since you recently expressed doubts about similar properties in the same apartment building. This time your bid was not the highest, and the seller decided to accept another bid. You stated that you were surprised that the broker brought up the recent cancellation. However, we believe this is a justified question. As brokers, we are obliged to investigate potential buyers so that we can advise our clients which offer is most suitable to accept. I needed encouragement and he made sure to give it at the right moments. Strategy changed along the way through good consultation with a very nice result. 29 May 2025Our house in Loosdrecht is somewhat unique, designed in the 70s by an architect, and probably unique of its kind. We needed a real estate agent who really understood the house and ideally was just as enthusiastic about it as we were. We chose Rohlof Real Estate, simply because Frank showed an absolute passion for the house, which we knew he would convey to potential buyers. From start to finish, Frank worked hard to help us find a buyer and guide the sales process. The quality of the advertising he created was excellent, especially the video. Selling houses is Frank's hobby and his work, and that is clearly evident in his approach. I can wholeheartedly recommend Rohlof Real Estate, and Frank in particular.
