19 Sep 2025A while ago we put our house up for sale and engaged Staete for that purpose. Photos were taken (for which you naturally pay) and then a beautiful presentation with a premiere where we heard there were quite a few reactions. Unfortunately, after that, few reactions and viewers; as clients, we had to push this broker behind the scenes to call people back. We, as clients, had to request a meeting because after months of nothing happening, we’d had enough. After a meeting, we decided to stop working with Staete, followed by an invoice for all the work they had done for us. Two appointments and an hour of open house, for approximately 1000 euros because it was in the contract. Our new broker told us that this was, although it was in the contract, a scandalous amount, and that not always the full price is charged. This broker said we should call them anyway. We did, but Staete is unyielding; all the work they did (2 appointments, an hour of open house, and listing on Funda) still had to cost 1000 euros. Sad, so this broker is certainly not recommended; unfortunately, I received other feedback too late, so I hope my review reaches others in time. On Funda, reviews are only accepted after your house has been sold to everyone’s full satisfaction, so they are always positive, and therefore they referred me to Google.

It's assumed that as a customer you know the process and can estimate what is normal. That is usually not the case. A bit more guidance would be nice. But there will always be something lacking somewhere.

20 Aug 2025They can simply sell houses very well and I am happy with this sale. Furthermore, a very pleasant and efficient real estate agent and internal staff. The real estate agent is not so easily accessible due to busyness. Not always was the message from the outside sales team (the real estate agent) properly conveyed or picked up by the internal staff. For example, a request that I wanted to be called back by a mortgage advisor. Because the photos are calculated separately, quite high in price.

The apartment was even sold above the asking price. Because my mother (it concerned her apartment) is not very mobile, Tim drove without any problems to the care home to handle the documents there. 07 Feb 2024I rented out my apartment through huizenbalie. I was well helped and my questions were answered very quickly. I also received the requests for viewings directly via my email. Can really recommend huizenbalie if you want to rent out your home yourself. Update: A little over a year later, I placed another advertisement through huizenbalie. Now interested parties have to fill in a questionnaire with a motivation beforehand, which results in more serious reactions. Again, many responses in a short time. Huib is handling it well again just like last time.

07 Feb 2023Very bad service, this morning my friend had an appointment for a viewing in Den Helder. He had to come from Hellevoetsluis, so he drove almost 2 hours. Upon arrival at the agreed time, no one was present. Repeatedly tried to call, only an answering machine that addresses you, now I understand why there is no voicemail. Ultimately, no one showed up and it cost him a lot of time and expensive fuel. Very customer unfriendly!!!!

Handling it myself, but this saves me 1000+ Euro , especially compared to (expat) real estate agencies, which ask for 1 month's rent for this (?!). Contact person very friendly on the phone. Conclusion: the future of property rental in a company

07 Feb 2023Warning! Extremely bad company! - Do you call the central number for interest in a property? You are referred to an email address and the connection is disconnected. Telephone consultation is impossible. - Do you call the number of one of their branches (in my case Groningen)? You get a message that the phone number is not in service. - Once responded via email to a property? You initially receive an automatic 'Postmaster' email as if the email address is undeliverable. Then you get a person whose first and last name are listed in the note of the email. - In a rental process, you can have many questions as a candidate. These will not be answered. Not even by email. The contact person only wants you to respond to his/her questions and not the other way around. - Finally: the viewing itself. You get a nice property to view. Good housing stock. Only the process: no hand is shaken, there is no interest in getting to know you, you are questioned about why you want to move (even though you have already mentioned this via email) and what you earn. You can give answers, but because listening is selective, what you actually say is not processed. - Ask for a video viewing. This prevents you from having to drive a long way only to hear during the viewing that there are 10 other candidates and you shouldn't get your hopes up... - The worst thing of all: the attitude. Mrs. Geraldien Miedema couldn't resist saying that they 'granted' the property to someone else. It might also be 'rented' to someone else, Mrs. Miedema. In short: 1 star for the property itself. No stars for the service.
