Dit jaar bestaat De Pater Makelaardij maar liefst 50 jaar! Het begon allemaal toen Piet de Pater, na het succesvol afronden van een intensieve studie tot makelaar in onroerend goed en zijn beëdiging door de rechter als makelaar en taxateur, zijn eigen makelaarskantoor oprichtte: De Pater Makelaardij. Inmiddels is het 25 jaar geleden dat hij het stokje overdroeg aan zijn zoon, Peter de Pater. Wat ooit begon als een kleinschalig kantoor, is in de afgelopen decennia uitgegroeid tot een dynamische onderneming met krachtige vestigingen in Waddinxveen en Boskoop. In 50 jaar tijd heeft de makelaardij grote veranderingen doorgemaakt. Digitalisering, de komst van internet (waaronder Funda) en social media hebben de manier van werken compleet veranderd. Toch is er één ding dat niet is veranderd: de makelaar blijft dé verbindende factor tussen mensen en woningen. Makelen is en blijft mensenwerk. My experience with this real estate agent in South Holland was particularly disappointing. When signing the purchase contract, reference was made to documents that turned out not to be legally correct. This caused confusion and uncertainty. When I asked questions to the representative, Peter, I often got answers that were not based on facts, but on his own interpretation. If you did not agree with that, he could react verbally aggressively, which made the communication very unpleasant. I felt not taken seriously; he treated me as a customer disrespectfully and spoke contemptuously about experts and advisors.

I asked Mr. De Pater if he could do anything to resolve this stalled situation. He contacted the relevant broker and requested an explanation. Contact has now been restored. Extremely strangely working realtor. An appointment was made to view a house, and I was called back within the hour with the message that they had double-booked an appointment and therefore needed to reschedule. That can happen of course, but when I then call back to make a new appointment, they first say that the house has already been sold, and then again that there was a double booking. A new appointment is made, and then it's cancelled again on the same day, with the message that the house has been sold. But we are still welcome at the open day, which is going ahead anyway (?) In the meantime, more than two weeks have passed, the Open Day has been (we didn’t go, because I prefer not to buy through such a realtor), and the house is still for sale. Great for people who are trying to sell their house, such a realtor!
