From the beginning, we felt in good hands, and that feeling only grew stronger throughout the process. As expats buying from abroad, we knew the market would be challenging. We had heard how competitive and fast everything can be, and how difficult it is to succeed if you don't fully understand the bidding system. Martin took all that complexity off our shoulders. He represented us with confidence and precision, and his calm, well-timed advice helped us navigate everything clearly. You really notice how much experience he has – and how important that is in this kind of market. One of the most reassuring aspects of the process was Martin's strong technical knowledge. Before a formal viewing, he carefully inspected each property himself, pointing out structural problems or hidden details that we would have completely overlooked. That helped us make decisions with much more confidence and save time and money. In addition to the technical side, we especially appreciated how personal and supportive the collaboration felt. Martin didn't just help us buy a house – he built a whole support network around us. 09 Apr 2025Buying a house with the help of Martin and Quwendy felt super easy as expats. They kept us well informed about all steps of the process, what to expect, and they were always ready to help. When it came to viewing properties, Martin's endless knowledge made a huge difference. He had an answer to everything we asked, from structural problems, improvements, renovation, short/long term costs. But by the time we would ask those things, he naturally already noticed the issues and informed us thanks to his eye for detail. What pleased us most was the way he handled bidding and negotiating. He gave purely objective opinions only. He never pushed a purchase or suggested it just to make quick profit. The extra hours he put in were spent on research and negotiations in the evening hours. And that led us to buy our dream house, a house we love. Overall, we highly recommend working with Martin and Quwendy when buying your first house/apartment. We received tailored advice, detailed explanation about how the whole process works, a personal touch, there is consideration for both seller and buyer, and when we got stuck with the purchase of our new home, Martin also supported us by finding the right people for us to continue. Very happy with this real estate agent and 100% recommended!

But Anderz Real Estate Agent Martin and Quwendy guided us in every respect in an incredibly professional manner. Martin is a very friendly and caring person. He made accurate decisions about this crazy market and was right every time. Without him, we would not have been able to do it. Date unknownUnprofessional, arrogant and not keeping to agreements. Those are quite statements of course, so for those who want to know why, here's the background. This real estate agency was the selling broker of a property that I bought in Groningen. After much bidding, I would become the proud owner of the property in question. A week later, the appointment for signing the preliminary purchase agreement was scheduled. Two hours before signing it, I received a phone call from the secretary of Boekholt. That some ‘additional information’ had been received and that the current owners of the property would be present to give an explanation. That it was a 'minority' and that the signing could simply go ahead. Once at the office, there was a substitute broker (Niels) and the owners of the property. Three days earlier, a letter had arrived from the lawyer of the neighbor of the property. It turned out that this neighbor had already filed proceedings three times before regarding all sorts of issues such as a sewer system, a fence for a roof terrace, a right of way, a renovation he disagreed with and so on. This had been in court several times, even to the Supreme Court. A procedure of years. In the new letter, the lawyer suggested that there were still a number of unresolved matters. All this information was new to me at that moment as a buyer. I was taken by surprise. It seemed to me that the current owners wanted to leave the property with one of the main reasons being this neighbor. According to the current owners, they would bear all the consequences of past, present and future matters relating to the neighbor. The broker indicated at that moment that the owners could not promise this, legally it was impossible to get watertight. All in all, I couldn't sign a preliminary purchase agreement at that moment, I first had to find out for myself what exactly was going on. Everyone at the table understood that too. We decided to take a short break. It was Wednesday at that time and we would meet again on Monday to discuss how to proceed. We shook hands on this and the appointment was set. Two hours later, Ben Schuitema called that the appointment as agreed would be cancelled. I had 24 hours to decide what I wanted, until Thursday afternoon at 5 pm. To apparently increase the pressure, he stated that the buyers with the lower bid than me had already been contacted and were ready to sign immediately. In response to my reply that another arrangement had been made with me and that I had time until Monday to investigate everything, he stated that Niels should never have decided this. I could jump up or down, this is how it would go. 24 hours was far too little to properly find out exactly what this whole story was about. I therefore had to abandon the purchase. Heavily disappointed in the course of events and the unprofessional conduct of this office.

An amount you might get if there are bids over the asking price, but we felt that shouldn't be set as the asking price then. When it turned out that there was relatively little interest in the property, we adjusted the asking price downwards in consultation.
