26 Oct 2025Exceptional, 6 out of 5. Martin and Quwendy are the best professionals in their field: attentive and loyal to their clients, and proactive, fast and effective in their work. As a buyer, Martin will fight for you to the utmost and be willing to convince the seller that you are the right buyer, even if on paper you are facing someone who has made a better offer. As a seller, Martin also finds the best offer for you, not only at auctions, but – should the auction results fall short – also by getting customers who long ago gave up on their own search back into action. All the additional research – regarding VvE's, electricity supply, insurance, contracts and liabilities – is carried out smoothly and professionally, so that you don't have to worry about anything. The inspection of apartments during the purchase phase also proceeds very efficiently, with Martin being able to estimate how much a replacement or repair of a certain defect will cost you later on. All this happens with the greatest dedication to the principles of the profession. After trying several real estate agents in Groningen, I have no doubt that Martin is the person to go to if you want to be sure that you get the maximum out of your purchase or sale. That extra few hundred euros in commission is more than worth it.

From the beginning, we felt in good hands, and that feeling only grew stronger throughout the process. As expats buying from abroad, we knew the market would be challenging. We had heard how competitive and fast everything can be, and how difficult it is to succeed if you don't fully understand the bidding system. Martin took all that complexity off our shoulders. He represented us with confidence and precision, and his calm, well-timed advice helped us navigate everything clearly. You really notice how much experience he has – and how important that is in this kind of market. One of the most reassuring aspects of the process was Martin's strong technical knowledge. Before a formal viewing, he carefully inspected each property himself, pointing out structural problems or hidden details that we would have completely overlooked. That helped us make decisions with much more confidence and save time and money. In addition to the technical side, we especially appreciated how personal and supportive the collaboration felt. Martin didn't just help us buy a house – he built a whole support network around us. They kept us well informed about all steps of the process, what we could expect, and they were always willing to help. During viewings, Martin's endless knowledge made a huge difference. Everything we asked about, from structural problems, improvements, renovations to costs in the short and long term, he had an answer for. But of course, he had already noticed the problems and informed us thanks to his eye for detail by the time we asked such questions. What we appreciated most was the way he approached the offering and negotiating. He gave purely objective opinions. He never pushed for a purchase or suggested it, purely to make quick profit. He put in extra hours in the evenings for research and negotiations. And that helped us buy our dream house, a house we are completely in love with. All in all, we wholeheartedly recommend Martin and Quwendy when buying your first house/apartment. You will always feel secure during the process and especially when making an offer. We received tailored advice, detailed explanation about how the whole process works, a personal touch, there is consideration for both seller and buyer, and when we got stuck with the purchase of our new home, Martin also supported us by finding the right people for us to continue. Also, the agent did not have prices for comparable homes ready. The advice was always to bid significantly above the asking price. So little added value.

Date unknownUnprofessional, arrogant and not keeping to agreements. Those are quite statements of course, so for those who want to know why, here's the background. This real estate agency was the selling broker of a property that I bought in Groningen. After much bidding, I would become the proud owner of the property in question. A week later, the appointment for signing the preliminary purchase agreement was scheduled. Two hours before signing it, I received a phone call from the secretary of Boekholt. That some ‘additional information’ had been received and that the current owners of the property would be present to give an explanation. That it was a 'minority' and that the signing could simply go ahead. Once at the office, there was a substitute broker (Niels) and the owners of the property. Three days earlier, a letter had arrived from the lawyer of the neighbor of the property. It turned out that this neighbor had already filed proceedings three times before regarding all sorts of issues such as a sewer system, a fence for a roof terrace, a right of way, a renovation he disagreed with and so on. This had been in court several times, even to the Supreme Court. A procedure of years. In the new letter, the lawyer suggested that there were still a number of unresolved matters. All this information was new to me at that moment as a buyer. I was taken by surprise. It seemed to me that the current owners wanted to leave the property with one of the main reasons being this neighbor. According to the current owners, they would bear all the consequences of past, present and future matters relating to the neighbor. The broker indicated at that moment that the owners could not promise this, legally it was impossible to get watertight. All in all, I couldn't sign a preliminary purchase agreement at that moment, I first had to find out for myself what exactly was going on. Everyone at the table understood that too. We decided to take a short break. It was Wednesday at that time and we would meet again on Monday to discuss how to proceed. We shook hands on this and the appointment was set. Two hours later, Ben Schuitema called that the appointment as agreed would be cancelled. I had 24 hours to decide what I wanted, until Thursday afternoon at 5 pm. To apparently increase the pressure, he stated that the buyers with the lower bid than me had already been contacted and were ready to sign immediately. In response to my reply that another arrangement had been made with me and that I had time until Monday to investigate everything, he stated that Niels should never have decided this. I could jump up or down, this is how it would go. 24 hours was far too little to properly find out exactly what this whole story was about. I therefore had to abandon the purchase. Heavily disappointed in the course of events and the unprofessional conduct of this office.
