We had a rather specific search picture, but with the help of Pieter's sharp eye, the useful sparring sessions and the quick switching of his team, we found the house that suits us, exactly in our dream location. The sale was also taken care of by Pieter and his team. We received good tips on how to present our home as well as possible. With a sold property and a satisfied seller (us) as the end result. We found it very pleasant to engage Plan Makelaars as both a purchase and sales broker. It gave us peace of mind to focus on what was important to us. That can be useful in such an intensive process. 07 Jun 2025Absolutely recommended! I have worked intensively with Pieter and his team for the past few weeks and it has been very positive. He knows what he's talking about, knows the entire city like the back of his hand and has contacts everywhere. He does everything to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible and that just works really well. What I found particularly pleasant was the feeling of having someone truly on your side and genuinely advocating for your interests. To be honest, I found the whole process quite exciting at times (choosing a house, bidding, arranging a mortgage) and when someone thinks along with you in a sober and structured way, that is priceless. The only thing I would do differently next time is to choose the mortgage advisor that Pieter works closely with. Then the lines are shorter and that's important because arranging a mortgage has to be done within a certain timeframe and you don’t want it to go wrong there. Pieter and Zahra, thank you for your help and until next time!

07 Oct 2025Exceptional, 6 out of 5. Martin and Quwendy are the best professionals in their field: attentive and loyal to their clients, and proactive, fast and effective in their work. As a buyer, Martin will fight for you to the utmost and be willing to convince the seller that you are the right buyer, even if on paper you are facing someone who has made a better offer. As a seller, Martin also finds the best offer for you, not only at auctions, but – should the auction results fall short – also by getting customers who long ago gave up on their own search back into action. All the additional research – regarding VvE's, electricity supply, insurance, contracts and liabilities – is carried out smoothly and professionally, so that you don't have to worry about anything. The inspection of apartments during the purchase phase also proceeds very efficiently, with Martin being able to estimate how much a replacement or repair of a certain defect will cost you later on. All this happens with the greatest dedication to the principles of the profession. After trying several real estate agents in Groningen, I have no doubt that Martin is the person to go to if you want to be sure that you get the maximum out of your purchase or sale. That extra few hundred euros in commission is more than worth it.

They kept us well informed about all steps of the process, what we could expect, and they were always willing to help. During viewings, Martin's endless knowledge made a huge difference. Everything we asked about, from structural problems, improvements, renovations to costs in the short and long term, he had an answer for. But of course, he had already noticed the problems and informed us thanks to his eye for detail by the time we asked such questions. What we appreciated most was the way he approached the offering and negotiating. He gave purely objective opinions. He never pushed for a purchase or suggested it, purely to make quick profit. He put in extra hours in the evenings for research and negotiations. And that helped us buy our dream house, a house we are completely in love with. All in all, we wholeheartedly recommend Martin and Quwendy when buying your first house/apartment. You will always feel secure during the process and especially when making an offer. You find your dream house for a fair price, without hidden maintenance costs.

07 Jul 2025Be extremely cautious if you are considering renting from Van der Meulen Makelaars. My two-year lease ended with an unjustified deduction of more than €550 from my deposit, combined with misleading statements and unnecessary stress. A few days before my move-out, their employee, Aron, conducted an inspection. He clearly said: 'It looks like no one has ever lived here – it's perfect. Exactly as it should be.' This statement gave me confidence, since we had thoroughly cleaned and maintained the apartment. Apart from a small mistake – some crumbs in the oven from cooking the previous evening – the apartment was neat, undamaged, and exactly as I had received it. I even recorded a full video tour to document the condition. After my move-out, I expected to get my deposit back quickly. Instead, I heard nothing for a week. Only after I asked did they suddenly respond and accused me of leaving the apartment 'extremely dirty,' claiming various unspecified items were missing and that the chairs were 'broken.' Initially, they specifically accused me of missing items, including the TV stand and kettle. When I promptly provided video evidence clearly showing these items were on top of the table, their only response was: 'Oh, we must have overlooked them,' after which they stopped responding altogether. It remains astonishing and suspicious how meticulously they inspected and documented minor issues like dust behind heavy furniture, yet somehow managed to overlook clearly visible large items. Despite this clear video evidence, they still deducted €250 from my deposit under the vague category 'missing items.' In reality, the chairs were not broken at all. They showed only normal wear – flaking synthetic leather after two years of daily use. I had already paid monthly fees (€100-150 per month) that explicitly covered normal wear. However, on their final invoice, they did not even specifically mention the chairs, but charged me €250 under a vague and unclear category 'missing items.' Initially, they refused to specify exactly what was missing. Furthermore, they charged me €306,32 for cleaning services that were hired 25 days after my move-out. Shockingly enough, the parking costs of the cleaning company were included in this – an expense that clearly should not be charged to the tenant, further emphasizing the unreasonable and unfair nature of their charges. When I immediately offered to return and carry out any necessary cleaning work, especially the small issue with the oven, they refused, stating it was 'too late.' Worse still, I had been explicitly informed that my lease could not be renewed because the landlord had stated the apartment would be sold. Trusting their word, I moved with my two young children immediately, which caused significant problems in finding new housing. Ultimately, we ended up in temporary accommodation. Although I currently am not sure if the apartment has actually been sold, this situation has caused me a lot of problems and heightened my doubts about their true intentions. This experience has given me the feeling that I was exploited and misled. It seems to follow a pattern: They reassure tenants verbally upon check-out. Then they remain silent about the deposit return. Weeks later, they suddenly claim there are cleaning issues, that items are missing or damage has occurred. They refuse offers from the tenant to resolve minor issues themselves. Ultimately, they deduct large amounts from the deposit with exaggerated claims. I am going to take legal action to get my deposit back and prevent others from facing similar issues. I have given Van der Meulen Makelaars and the landlord time to respond and explained why the deductions were unjustified, but they ignored me. Because they refused to resolve it, I will go to court the next workday. I am sharing this review to help future tenants avoid the same stress and injustice.

However, certain issues were identified during the final inspection that do not comply with the agreed transfer conditions. We have done everything possible to explain and substantiate this, as described in the final inspection report, even after you submitted your objections. It is regrettable that we could not reach an agreement. However, we are open to further discussion.

07 Dec 2025Very satisfied with the service. During the intake interview we arrived at a nice and realistic asking price. The sales strategy was tailor-made, with sufficient consultation and input. The photos and video showed the house at its best. It was not an average house so it took some time to find the right buyer, but no unnecessary pressure was exerted to achieve a quick sale. A nice detail is that Tebbens Torringa is the same real estate agency that was involved in the purchase of this house 30 years ago. It goes without saying that I can recommend this real estate agent to everyone.
