She reacted very enthusiastically and could even join the viewing. It was lovely to have her there, as I had never bought a house before. 28 Apr 2025Houtman & De Vogel. I had them highly rated as a real estate agent, but they really completely missed the mark. Making an April Fool's joke by offering a characteristic property for sale in Boskoop. Interested parties received an email back stating that it was an April Fool's joke. Knowing how tense the housing market is, especially among young people, this is a truly hopeless joke. In my opinion, the employees didn't think things through well before doing this. Giving people hope in this way I find very bad. I secretly hope it costs them customers. Very very bad Houtman @ De Vogel.

He is quickly able to switch gears and arrange things for the client. The purchase of my new home in Amsterdam went very quickly and smoothly. And I never received my full deposit back from the landlord who was essentially covered by the agency without me receiving a response. They knew that I would be leaving the country, so I was, like many others (see reviews), the perfect victim. Not really helping expats, on the contrary. You could say: expert in fooling expats :)

However, Xpat Xpert defends ONLY the interests of the landlord (landlord). Despite a perfectly cleaned apartment upon handover, confirmed by photos and a signed handover statement (signed by an employee of Xpat Xpert), part of the deposit was withheld. Xpat Xpert has not heard anything more about this matter. Complete radio silence despite repeated requests for clarification as to the reason for this, as well as their support for the tenant, given the signed handover statement. Still a disappointing end to the rental agreement!

I repeatedly tried to make contact, both by email and telephone, but I was never answered. 05 Jun 2022Everything went smoothly, except for the settlement of an apartment, where the agency acting as an intermediary could not provide an explanation as to why I did not receive the full deposit back. To prevent my problem, make sure you have a signed and agreed-upon sheet at hand during the final inspection of the apartment detailing what needs to be repaired/cleaned before handing over the keys.

Someone who can sleep well at night even after robbing expats blind during the day has a very flawed character. Avoid at all costs, or simply refuse to pay the administrative costs!!
