19 Sep 2025In the period May – August, we hired MDM real estate agency to help us sell the house. She reacted alertly and quickly and had already done her homework prior to the first appointment. She indicated for which price similar properties in the street had been sold before, critically but positively assessed the condition of our house and provided a proposal with a sales strategy. The strategy seemed good to us and her asking price was well-reasoned. Within 10 working days, photos and video recordings of the house were made with professional quality and placed on Funda. A flyer was also distributed in the neighborhood. We could follow the interest ourselves on Funda and a week later the first viewings took place. A week later, the first three bids came in and we were pleased to note that there was a good offer. The process from bid to sale was handled punctually and efficiently and overdracht (transfer) could take place in mid-August. Looking back, I give the following profile for MDM real estate agency: Professional, efficient, punctual, focus on client’s interest, honest and friendly. On the next occasion, we will call her first.

As an internationally moving family, we were looking for a long-term home in a new country, a new city and a housing market that we did not fully understand. From the beginning it became clear that Sharon was the ideal partner to guide us through this important and unfamiliar process. We first met Sharon when she showed a house that we happened to visit. Her transparency, honest approach and in-depth knowledge of the local market were immediately apparent. She communicated clearly with us in excellent English, making every step simple and reassuring. We also appreciated the excellent price-quality ratio of Swaneveldes services and the impression - which was soon confirmed - that Sharon combined honesty, proactiveness, responsiveness and very strong negotiation and analytical skills. From the moment we engaged her, Sharon took full responsibility for the process. Over a period of about two months she helped us search for suitable homes, organized and was present at every viewing and consistently warned us about red flags or potential pitfalls that we ourselves had not noticed. Her assessments were always thorough. She compared WOZ values, investigated previous purchase prices and market indexing, assessed the quality of the renovation and estimated the potential costs and risks. This due diligence enabled us to make well-considered decisions at every stage. Sharon also played an important role in leading the negotiations. Her guidance was crucial to help us secure the house we wanted, along with favorable conditions. She supported us during the structural inspection, advised us on choosing a notary and was even present at the valuation for the mortgage. Throughout the entire process she showed patience, clarity and a genuine commitment to our interests. One time they blame it on a “bug” in their system and another time on it ending up in the spam folder. Also things like receiving a message at 00:30 am about an appointment for the same morning and whether you can open the door because the realtor cannot themselves. Be wise and sometimes a cheap deal is not the best.

The photos were great and I think they really helped with the marketing of the house. Rob took the time to make sure we did everything we needed to do, because selling a house in the Netherlands is very different than in the United Kingdom. We will be sad to leave this house, but we wish the new owners a nice life there.

I am very satisfied with her professional and thorough approach, correct, open to dialogue and no nonsense. The appraisal report was subsequently particularly complete (certainly compared to previous appraisals). Clear descriptions plus attachments such as zoning plan, soil information, foundation risk etc., as well as recommendations for sustainability of the house (supported). During the appraisal, the appraiser had a good eye for detail and asked targeted questions. We also received the appraisal report earlier than expected.
