Good initial contact with the real estate agent, pleasant, friendly, expert and correct. There were some mistakes in communication with employees of the office which were corrected after I raised them. That was unfortunate.

The previous potential buyer kept lingering, while he moved on to my appointment slot. And it went on like that. The realtor also made a cheeky remark. When leaving, I am used to the realtor walking you to the door, especially when there is no in and out. This did not happen at all. After this, I have not visited any more homes from this agency. It's not just about the property but also the person you are facing. I would rather keep my money in my pocket. For the sale of my other home, I definitely know where I don’t want to be!

I think they offer reasonably affordable rental properties. The only thing I find a pity is that you had to send an email personally twice. With a short introduction about who I am and what I'm looking for. Unfortunately, I never received a response from the 2 emails I sent in the past. That’s my downside, the plus point is that they do have rental properties for under €.

Worst realtor you can go to. These people don't take your calls seriously, whether you are experiencing any form of problems, or these are legal or of any kind.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Hoen Makelaars, and in particular Aranka Verheij. I saw an apartment on Pararius and when I called Hoen to ask some questions before requesting a viewing, the customer service reacted immediately and was very helpful. I had a viewing with Aranka Verheij (real estate agent) and Jasper Boer (interim student) and they were both very welcoming. Aranka answered all my questions patiently. I needed to move out of my previous apartment as quickly as possible, so when Aranka told me that they would need five working days to decide whether the apartment would be offered to me, I kindly asked her to try to process my application as soon as possible. Within 1.5 days I received the apartment! When I met Aranka and Jasper to collect the keys to the apartment, they were again very friendly and welcoming. If you are an expat looking for an apartment in Amsterdam, I wholeheartedly recommend Hoen.
