13 Sep 2024In short: just don't do it! Explanation can be found below. ________________________________________ From A to Z, this process has been very unprofessional. The real estate agent we appointed for the sale, Skender, went on vacation immediately after accepting the offer, without any notification. Afterwards, we were left with his replacement, Remco, and that was a terrible experience all around. Here's a list: 1. Remco never answered when you called and didn't respond to messages -- even the notary mentioned during the sale that Remco is known for being unavailable. 2. Remco also didn't introduce himself after taking over from Skender. He didn't say anything and offered no information about the viewings he had planned. 3. Remco provided false information during the viewings, which has also negatively impacted the selling price of our house. 4. Remco was very rude all around. 5. Remco sold items with the house that were not for sale. 6. When Remco was confronted about this, he said: 'I'm not going to negotiate over a few items.' Ultimately, due to his attitude and unwillingness to advocate for our interests, we were unable to keep our belongings. 7. Remco made agreements with the purchasing party regarding the terms of the sale that were not discussed with us. When the notary tried to call him about this, he -of course- didn't answer either. And so on. When we contacted Skender about the substandard service provided, Skender was very indignant that we were dissatisfied. He did not acknowledge our frustrations and we also experienced no improvement or received any apologies. All in all, there was a huge lack of transparency, accessibility and customer focus. It is absolutely not recommended to work with either of these two men. They are both completely incompetent and unprofessional real estate agents.

I contacted them because I wanted help determining a good offer for a house, as I naturally want to make an offer that is proportionate to the house. Ultimately came up with an offer that was tens of thousands of euros above the appraisal value and above other bids. Of course, you only find out about that later. I don't understand house prices, so that’s why I engaged a buyer's agent. So yeah, too much trust. But unfortunately, Skender showed 0 reflection and responsibility in this and mainly wants his invoice to be paid.

For the sale of my mother's house, we were guided by Hans Konings. He is honest and clear about what can and cannot be done. Very helpful, even with the buying party who did not have a real estate agent. Everything arranged from A to Z. Always responds quickly, even in the evening or on weekends. He guided us well through the sales process, and was the only one of the three brokers we had invited who came up with the good idea to have photos taken during our vacation. That pragmatic attitude is characteristic of Hans and decisive in our choice for him. We have not regretted that. Hans adapts easily and is flexible in his approach. He listens well to wishes and then gives good advice. He always responded within a day to our questions and he kept appointments. After some setbacks in our own purchase process, he recommended another skilled purchasing broker, Kersten. Which made us feel enormously helped. Remmie has years of experience as a real estate agent and appraiser in the local housing market of Utrecht. Not a slick, quick young man, but an involved real estate agent with a positive factor. When it initially didn't go smoothly, Remmie helped keep his head cool. With some patience, and some strategic adjustments to how the property was put on the market, it was still sold quite quickly and for a good amount. Thanks to his good advice and guidance, I have more than earned back the costs of his services. If I ever needed a real estate agent again in the Utrecht region, I would call Remmie.

I looked for someone with sharp teeth, decisiveness and a no-nonsense approach – and that's exactly what I found with Claudia from LEF Makelaars. Claudia is a go-getter: she switches incredibly fast, always thinks a few steps ahead and knows exactly how to seize opportunities. She is decisive and has a combination of professionalism and personal involvement. Within 3 weeks after our introductory meeting, I had bought a house, signed the documents and the mortgage was finalized. Her ability to act quickly, her sharp eye and her perseverance really made the difference. I can wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a real estate agent who is fully committed to you.
