Date unknownGetting a home valuation done is not recommended. Poor communication and ultimately a long wait for the report. The phone isn't answered which almost led us to have a second valuation performed to avoid problems with the mortgage. That’s hardly service and they are expensive too. Edit: Later approached with apologies and explanation from their side about what went wrong, which was very nice.

She has once again managed to successfully sell a beautiful two-under-one-roof house in Houten-Oost. What truly sets her apart for us is the fact that she made everything as easy as possible for us. She is clear and friendly in her communication and relieved us of so many things, often taking initiative. Even when our administrative paperwork didn't go smoothly, she helped us get it done anyway. Denise is a real estate agent who truly thinks along with her clients and is incredibly flexible and extremely patient! In addition, she was very understanding of our situation and managed to facilitate this process for us in various ways. Despite the emotional burden, we can sell the house with peace of mind to very nice and respectful buyers. Which was really a plus for us. Here too, Denise listened and respected our wish. 15 Sep 2024We got to know Sjouke through another expat who was enthusiastic about him. And Sjouke lived up to his reputation and more! As expats, we were very unfamiliar with the Netherlands, and especially with the housing market. Sjouke helped us enormously with this! Sjouke has a lot of knowledge of the Dutch housing market, particularly in the areas in and around Utrecht. He explained the various aspects of the market in detail, answered every question (some of which weren't even related to buying a house!) and helped us navigate the very competitive Dutch housing market with ease. Sjouke’s back office sent us new houses on the list every morning and we scheduled viewings for the houses we liked. Sjouke would then personally accompany us to each viewing, giving us insights into the location, nuances about the construction of the property, and pointing out things we otherwise never would have noticed. Sjouke also has an incredible network of local professionals in the field of housing and construction that we could use: we relied on him to get us contacts for everything from home inspectors, appraisers, mortgage lenders, notaries, and translators. Sjouke would collaborate with them all to ensure our purchasing process ran super smoothly. Because he took care of all the details and processes, we were able to focus on what was most important to us: finding a house that we loved, and that’s exactly what we did, within 2 months of working with Sjouke! I would wholeheartedly recommend Sjouke to any expat who wants to buy a house in the Netherlands. He is a great ally in your home search.

Without his help we would not have been able to find our current home. After an introductory meeting at our home, Marijn sent daily before the offer appeared on funda available homes. With a keen eye, he showed us all (in)possibilities during viewings. What we particularly liked was that Marijn is always accessible for questions and advice, which is very nice in such a stressful process as buying a house. His large network also helped with the purchasing process, for example by referring us to a pleasant mortgage advisor. A nice informal atmosphere and good contact via WhatsApp and phone calls. He is always very accessible and responds quickly. We didn't even view that many properties afterwards, but the viewings we did with Marijn were enjoyable. He looks carefully, asks many questions of the selling real estate agent, isn't averse to having a chat with the neighbors, and also thinks well about possibilities with you. After less than one and a half months of searching, we found our house and he ensured that we could buy our first home through good negotiation work. Ultimately, the bid was even slightly lower than we were prepared to go! We never thought it could happen so quickly in such a turbulent market as this. The asking price was ambitiously set (I thought: 'it will never happen') and the property was sold within 2 weeks for a price close to it. Above expectations! The first time we were looking for a property in the Netherlands. We weren't even in the Netherlands when we did so. Melvin is a good listener. He listened to all our wishes and requirements, made a shortlist of houses that were on the market, and after the second (online) viewing, we had our first house in a new country. He also knows the market and all the details about it. That helps with the negotiation and bidding process. After living in a rental property for 1.5 years, we decided to buy a home of our own. Melvin is patient, responsive and incredibly knowledgeable about the real estate market in Utrecht (that's where we worked with him, and I am sure he is also great in the other places where he works!). We also heartily recommend Melvin to expats. Because we come from abroad, there were many documents, bills, etc. that we did not need to arrange for a rental property. When I arrived there, I was lost without information about the building, because there were multiple identical ones. Despite calling him several times, he didn't answer his phone. It took me more than 1 hour to get there by train and he simply doesn't care about people’s time. Extremely unprofessional and disrespectful.

Ultimately, we also used van Pas to help us search for a new home, in which Ellen and especially Stijn fantastically helped us find a new home and negotiate the price! After purchasing our home with realtor Ellen, everything was prepared for the sale; Ellen had created a plan outlining when the photographer would come, when the property would be listed on Funda, and when viewings would take place. Ellen also had an idea of when we would receive the right offer and approximately how much that offer would be. Everything turned out exactly as Ellen planned, from the viewings to the right offer – everything went as predicted! This took a lot of worries off our hands thanks to van Pas, which is a very pleasant feeling when selling your own home! We always had good contact with van Pas; whenever we needed something, we could always call and were quickly assisted - we are super happy with the service from van Pas!

For the sale of my mother's house, we were guided by Hans Konings. He is honest and clear about what can and cannot be done. Very helpful, even with the buying party who did not have a real estate agent. Everything arranged from A to Z. Always responds quickly, even in the evening or on weekends. He guided us well through the sales process, and was the only one of the three brokers we had invited who came up with the good idea to have photos taken during our vacation. That pragmatic attitude is characteristic of Hans and decisive in our choice for him. We have not regretted that. Hans adapts easily and is flexible in his approach. He listens well to wishes and then gives good advice. He always responded within a day to our questions and he kept appointments. After some setbacks in our own purchase process, he recommended another skilled purchasing broker, Kersten. Which made us feel enormously helped. We can confirm, as several reviews already say, that Hans is a friendly, honest and skilled broker!
