Instead of following a transparent process, they manipulate the sale by only informing their preferred buyers and giving them the opportunity to outbid. This is pure fraud and utterly unprofessional. It's better to buy your house through an honest and reputable realtor – you’d better avoid this one!

28 Aug 2025In the period May – August, we hired MDM real estate agency to help us sell the house. She reacted alertly and quickly and had already done her homework prior to the first appointment. She indicated for which price similar properties in the street had been sold before, critically but positively assessed the condition of our house and provided a proposal with a sales strategy. The strategy seemed good to us and her asking price was well-reasoned. Within 10 working days, photos and video recordings of the house were made with professional quality and placed on Funda. A flyer was also distributed in the neighborhood. We could follow the interest ourselves on Funda and a week later the first viewings took place. A week later, the first three bids came in and we were pleased to note that there was a good offer. The process from bid to sale was handled punctually and efficiently and overdracht (transfer) could take place in mid-August. Looking back, I give the following profile for MDM real estate agency: Professional, efficient, punctual, focus on client’s interest, honest and friendly. On the next occasion, we will call her first.

Luckily, we found our house at the second house we viewed. The bidding process was new to us but that wasn't a problem. Henriëtte was able to tell us all the tips and tricks to ensure that we got the house. After we had placed the winning bid on the house, Henriëtte guided us through the entire purchase process. For all questions, she was ready. I would not hesitate to hire her again to buy a house.

Date unknownApril 2023 MDM Makelaardij has once again acted quickly. This time not during the purchase of a home, but during the sale. Conveniently scheduled viewings and a nice offer. Again happy! April 2021 That quick action is possible has been demonstrated at MDM Makelaardij. Within 30 minutes after the viewing I had to make an offer, Henriette helped me well with that. My parents, both 70+, did not have a sustainable home (purchase). Henriette searched and found a beautiful and affordable rental property for my parents. She based her search on the wishes of my parents. Without Henriette, it would not have been possible for my parents and me to find a new and safe house so quickly. We are very satisfied. I was asked about 'administrative costs', which, as it turned out later, were no longer legally allowed in the Netherlands. And I never received my full deposit back from the landlord, who effectively took care of the real estate agent without telling me anything at all. They knew that I would be leaving the country, so I was, like many others (see reviews), the ideal victim. Not really helpful for expats, quite the contrary. You could say that I am an expert in fooling expats :)

14 Sep 2023Correct communication via their website as well as by phone, with punctual appointments, both at the start of the rental and upon termination of the lease agreement and handover. However, Xpat Xpert defends ONLY the interests of the landlord (landlord). Despite a perfectly cleaned apartment upon handover, confirmed by photos and a signed handover statement (signed by an employee of Xpat Xpert), part of the deposit was withheld. Xpat Xpert has not heard anything more about this matter. Complete radio silence despite repeated requests for clarification as to the reason for this, as well as their support for the tenant, given the signed handover statement. Still a disappointing end to the rental agreement!

14 Sep 2022Some time ago I was invited for a viewing. For this, I traveled to Leiden, sent all my documentation, and was greeted kindly. Unfortunately, after that, I never heard anything more. I repeatedly tried to make contact, both by email and telephone, but I was never answered. I find this a very unsocial situation; I invest effort, time and money in the procedure only to hear nothing!

To prevent problems, make sure you have a signed agreement during the final inspection of the apartment about what needs to be repaired/cleaned before handing over the keys.

Someone who can sleep well at night even after robbing expats blind during the day has a very flawed character. Avoid this at all costs, or simply refuse to pay the administrative costs!

10 Sep 2025Be aware of your deposit when renting through this agency. After almost three years of renting with Finke, I received a final inspection where a 10cm long scratch was noted. The inspector indicated that everything was in order and gave the impression that the tenancy had ended well. No instruction was given to me to remove this scratch before the end of the month. A week after the end of my rental period, I found out that all walls were repainted at a cost of 1500 euros, which came directly from my deposit. I disagreed with this - I could have painted it myself for 20 euros - and took it to court, where I was given the right side. I got my deposit back.

According to the real estate agents, it was a short circuit that would be resolved within a few hours (it took much longer). I had to contact them multiple times to get it resolved. Edit: I now live in this apartment for 5 months and I still don't have a working intercom (I opened a ticket in week 2).

He acted as in-between with the seller's broker and helped us arrange all we needed. All the paperwork was prepared promptly and the purchase contract was checked carefully before we signed it.
