07 Feb 2025Early December, we went to view a house where Mr. Baaten, as the selling real estate agent from Huizenpraktijk, gave the tour. All interested parties had been given the opportunity until a certain point to submit 1 bid through an online bidding site. We had also done so. That same afternoon, we received a phone call saying that our offer was the best and also received this in writing via email that same evening. The next morning (less than 24 hours later), we received a phone call where Mr. Baaten told us that the sellers had had their own viewing outside of the real estate agent and had offered 20K more. Our bid, which had gone through the official bidding process, was naturally no longer the best bid. We were of course given the opportunity to also offer an extra 20K, so ultimately it still became a 'bidding against each other' game. Through various channels, we later heard that it would have proceeded through the real estate agent anyway, so very disappointing that there seems to be lying and that the sellers received the blame.

18 Aug 2023The lady from the office made an appointment to view the apartment on Monday. We had to leave work earlier because we still had half an hour to drive to our destination. Upon arrival, it turned out that no one was present and we were informed by phone that there was a communication error and that the apartment had already been rented! I advise against it.
