“Guarantee agent without guarantee” During the viewing of our house, both the selling party and real estate agent Maarten Tromp clearly stated that the gutters were leaking, but that they would be repaired before handover. This gave us confidence and was an important reason for us to proceed with the purchase. After the handover, however, we quickly realized that the gutters were still leaking (both at the front and back). This was immediately reported to the sellers, who had their friendly plumber call. To our surprise, this plumber admitted that he already knew that his performed repair actually would not work. In other words: a half-baked repair was done on purpose to temporarily mask the problem. Afterwards, I contacted Maarten Tromp, who had confirmed that the gutters would be properly repaired. He stated that he could do little about it. I find this unacceptable, especially from someone who calls himself a 'guarantee agent' and has also promised it. The result: we now have two leaking gutters, one of which is above our newly installed awning, which is at risk of damage. No guarantee, no clear communication, and an agent who does not take responsibility. Conclusion: if you are looking for certainty and service, look further. An agent who promises a guarantee but delivers none is not worth your trust. Update as a reaction to the agent's response on 27-11-2025: Thank you for your response, although it came more than two months after I posted my review. Your response misses the point: you confirmed that the gutters would be repaired before handover. That promise was not kept. Then, in your communication, you chose to side with the seller, among other things by forwarding my private email correspondence to them without my consent. That is exactly why this issue has now been submitted to the Real Estate Professionals Disciplinary Committee.
