June 2020, Last year in April we went to look at a detached villa at Schokkerjachtdijk 5. Yaniv and his twin brother were building and we indicated that we wanted to buy the property for 1,100,000. One had already been sold (Schokkerjachtdijk 9) for 950,000. After several conversations, Yaniv still wanted more and the amount eventually became 1,200,000. We had an oral agreement in June and we went on vacation with peace of mind. There were still some small things like, what kind of kitchen, what do we do with the garden etc etc. After our vacation in September 2019, we immediately made an appointment with Yaniv and his brother but they suddenly wanted that through HEEREN MAKELAARS. We had a verbal agreement with Yaniv and we thought we were going to buy a property from the real estate agent in question. After a half-hour conversation very casually in English (Yaniv and his brother came from Israel), Sander, the director, wanted to continue talking in Dutch. Sander stated that he personally knew the boys' father and that the boys weren't old enough to make such big decisions. (both over 40 years old!) He and the father preferred to put the property on Funda (to see if they could possibly get more) and dismissed our verbal agreement as a mistake of the brothers. The brothers said nothing more, we were speechless, especially since you are naturally being ripped off where you stand. We politely said goodbye to everyone and started looking for another property. Now comes the sour part, call it karma, the property is still for sale for 1,200,000!! The amount we had already offered in SEPT 2019. Meanwhile, a large banner adorns the entire side of the house with the text 'please buy me' LOL ...How happy Yaniv, his brother and the father will be with the good advice from Sander from HEEREN MAKELAARS. 'DON'T SELL IN SEPT 2019 FOR 1.2 MILLION, PUT IT ON FUNDA BECAUSE YOU WILL SURELY GET MORE' I waited a while with the review to see if the house would now be sold under the plan of Heeren Makelaars, Sander.
