We are sharing our very negative experience with Joep Vergunst from Koppes Makelaardij regarding the sale of our home. During the sales process, we were systematically inadequately informed about the progress. Updates on offers, negotiations and the status of the purchase agreement were only received after we repeatedly asked for them ourselves. Transparency was completely lacking. In addition, the communication was often abrupt and unprofessional. Questions were met with dismissive responses, and at one point we were told to “stop messaging” and “just wait it out.” We found this very disrespectful and unprofessional. As we were living abroad during the process, we granted the real estate agent a power of attorney to act on our behalf. Exactly in that situation, extra care and communication should be expected. Nevertheless, we were not actively informed when the purchase agreement was signed. Not even a simple feedback or congratulations was provided. We consider this unprofessional and indicative of a lack of involvement. What we find even more serious are remarks about potential buyers with a foreign background. It was suggested that certain target groups “would fit better in the street” and that “Dutch people here are not so keen to live,” also mentioning the proximity of a mosque. We find these statements inappropriate and discriminatory. Based on our experience, we do not recommend this real estate agent.

Due to circumstances, I unexpectedly had to look for a rental property, which was quite a stressful period. At Koppes Makelaardij/Verhuur in Alphen aan den Rijn, I came into contact with Hetty Duijnisveld, and what she meant to me is almost indescribable. I have rarely experienced someone being so reliable: all appointments were kept, I was continuously well-informed, and she actively thought along with me. Hetty not only helped me in making choices but also critically and honestly looked at my situation, which I greatly appreciated. The past three months, she has really gotten me through it. Thanks to her, I can move into a new rental property as of 1 March, which I am extremely happy about. That feels almost surreal. In the meantime, my file is being taken over by the real estate company and honestly, I find it secretly disappointing that I no longer have contact with her, as the collaboration was so pleasant. This review is therefore more than deserved: Hetty has helped me incredibly well, and I am very grateful to her. Koppes Makelaardij may be extremely proud of such an involved and professional employee.

Unfortunately, after the transfer, a completely different experience. There are some things that were presented differently during the viewing than reality. Unfortunately, it is not possible to have a normal conversation about this. Koppes has not responded to emails in 8 weeks, and the promised callbacks have also not been followed up on. Further than: 'we will call back tomorrow' we did not get to a conversation. Very sorry that there is no possible communication. Unfortunately, we no longer received a response regarding the valuation. Upon inquiry about the status, they said they would look into what went wrong because the valuation was already available. Again, no response whatsoever. After physically visiting the office after 2 days to return the obtained folder and inform them that we were abandoning their “services,” there was also no empathetic reaction or attempt to directly help a customer to investigate what could have gone wrong. A simple 'oh dear, how annoying,' please sit down, would you like coffee, I'll see if I can find out what went wrong would have made so much difference.

Very often you absolutely get the feeling that you are not taken seriously, the allocation policy is shady and despite the fact that Hetty is enormously customer-oriented and friendly my assessment of Koppes can only be extremely negative. We visited the property in Alphen aan den Rijn as a potential buyer. We were 3 minutes late. But the real estate agent immediately made an issue of that when we came in. He didn't even greet us and started directly on the 3 minute delay. This disturbed us a lot and we couldn't concentrate on the viewing. I have heard that the Netherlands is known for its punctuality. But 3 minutes delay is still not a reason to treat a buyer disrespectfully? We have waited 7-8 minutes for real estate agents before, but that can happen to anyone (for example traffic jams or a open bridge) and we accept that. In short... customer respect is missing.

Contacted many brokers and often they are very unsociable and uninterested or do not respond at all. This broker was friendly and seemed to be very involved.
